Who put peppers in papa's salad
who would do such a wicked thing
as we sat around the dinner table
his eyes did start to roll and spin

His face went bright red
and his head did start to swell
mama said who's ever done this evil deed
will surely be getting a belting to hell

He fell from the table onto the floor
and was doing the lay down jig
me and my sisters were laughing
for he looked like a squealing pig

Before the duty to her spouse
mother started throwing the biggest plates
with the ardour of mighty mouse
as papa laid there all stiff and prostrate

A ambulance was called to the house
as mama with phone, put us against the wall
it was a beating first, and ask questions later
all were not now laughing as we knew this was not cool
