I've listened to so many stories
of men
arriving just in time

Told some
to renew
something
that is never clear
and always needy

I need you to need me
not be able to do without
me

Me
Not something that could be thrown away easily

What happens
When I am discarded
Is my last human moment
when I know my true role

A hand in a fire brigade
passing wetness
forward
to be poured
on newborns
who will laugh
the laugh
of I am
now

In the most
Spectacular
way
