I sit on the rocks in the cool salty breeze
keeping my eyes fixed on the gentle sea
they will swim nearly every night past
the blue queen with her sweet baby calf

I have watched them with joy week in week out
swimming past with water shooting from their spouts
yet this night there is no sign of these giants of the ocean great
I check my watch, I have made no folly of time no mistake

Where is my big baby blue
what has happened to these two
I sit there till the sun calls morning
then walk back home wondering

Next evening I walk to the beach
and there my big baby blue lays
on the shingles still and dead
with gulls pecking at it's baby head

Running over I shoo them away
I look at blue with tears in my eyes
the Orca's have done their wicked deed
just on the liver of this baby did they feed

I stroke it's massive frame
and think where could it's mother be
bitterly knowing all to well
she morns in the deep blue sea
