Emancipated
My skin
Was emblazoned
With gay pride
Glittery hues
Speaking the truth
Telling the world
My authentic identity
I didn’t require
Validation from society
To walk truthfully
In my gayness
I was emancipated
From societal norms
I had the power
To create my own wave
To be the man that possessed
Incredible intellect
With ardent fire
In my eyes
I had finally
Found my spark
