That first really hot day when your potbelly gives the game away and the lockdown has its first casualty of the Summer,

I tried to look slimmer
to hold myself in and
even used a safety pin,
but it was a fail.

Anyway
the beach may be out and the jury in
with a verdict of guilty,
of not being slim.

I really don't care anymore
if I and my belly bounce off the floor,
the winter will come soon enough
and a bit of the fat stuff will keep me
warm.
