A cry of a lone bird in the blackness Silence Stillness This is my world
Of glaring sunlight it is devoid Its message of rejuvenation rejected My soul an empty void Shunning all that lives in light My world is the darkness of night
Ouestioning eyes I care not to see My answers to the brazen curious I try to refrain from giving For I will offer no quarter They would be cutting and direct
I have shuttered my emotions Seeking only the calm and cool of the dark I chose to ignore this beating heart The glowing brightness they call life Withdrawing to the shadows of my world And the darkness of the night
