I know this crush is overtaking my body
It’s a poisonous affection that I steadily hunger for
Even when I know he doesn’t care for me
Even when I formulate sensuous depictions of us
Filling in the gaps to add passion to our souls
Subtracting the rejection, replacing it with redirection
To a growing equation of poetic bliss
No matter how much he shuts me out of his life
I will allow my emotions to feel deeper into his humanness
I won’t allow him to depart from me
When all I see in the world is him and me
I know I have gone too far
But I don’t see any other way to go
This is the course that I must pursue
I can’t let him fall in love with someone else
When I’m so invested in his affection
I must convince him that he doesn’t need
To keep searching for a love
The only person he needs in his life is me
