I'm holding myself together
With resin and mud
My blood is caked on the clouds
Surrounding our sky tower.
Crowds of geese and owls and doves
Guard from dawn to dusk
While you and I ascend the highest steps.
We view our echoed dreams
From the topmost turret
Swans and crows host our dark descent
Each star-packed night.
Scarred souls drawing downwards
Guiding one another ever tighter
Our hacked-off heads
Dangling from vultures claws.
