Can you hear the call above the fray?
You can frighten it away
just translate a latin charm this way...
"By all the powers of the Earth and Sea"
lift my spirit up to thee
shine your light into me
"By all the might of the Earth and Sun"
allow me peace to be at one...
I hear the call above the fray
refusing to shrink, or run away
my transformation has now begun
and, thy will for me
to be done.
Face your fears
don't run away...
hear the call above the fray
Quiet your mind in troubled times
when life appears to be unkind
know that you are deeply loved
from high above
and all around
it may show up in a simple sound...
watch for patterns along with signs
they'll show up in serendipitous designs
a web
an owl
a bird
a flower...
a sound
a phrase
a star...
a gaze
a smile...
on the face of a friend,
reflecting everything the Universe can send.

I'm a big believer in acting "as if..." and I love the poem that Emily Dickinson wrote below:

“Hope” is the thing with feathers
BY EMILY DICKINSON
“Hope” is the thing with feathers -
That perches in the soul -
And sings the tune without the words -
And never stops - at all -

And sweetest - in the Gale - is heard -
And sore must be the storm -
That could abash the little Bird
That kept so many warm -

I’ve heard it in the chillest land -
And on the strangest Sea -
Yet - never - in Extremity,
It asked a crumb - of me.
