I would marry a retired soldier than any other jolly.
For he would fight and I would fight,
And we would fight together,
What fun!

I would marry an old chef than any other jolly,
For he would butter me up,
And I would butter him up,
And we would butter each other up,
Ow! Lovely!
If I were a widow,
And if I were to marry,
I would marry a singer,
And he would sing,
And I would sing,
And we would both sing under the moonlight,
How romantic.
