stuck in the drafts #2: "christmas in summer"
they sold buy one take one holiday hams at march and that was the best thing ever
and i sleep well into the afternoon to hide from that horrid sun
you guys sat on my living room couch smelling December emerge from deep freeze and exclaimed, how did it get there
and i told you, no, breakfast for dinner
every time you're with me you'll be treated with my simple pleasures
warm rice and egg and some ham or bacon
and soup because it's cold, or coffee because it's hot outside
every time i serve my ham and eggs i look at you and your plate and wonder, well how long did you expect to eat these again
i don't think christmas is only for december, or moon cakes only for spring
i think the little pleasures don't need to be any less simpler, or one at a time
they sold buy one take one holiday hams at march and i wonder
no, sometimes it'll be as simple as that
please do not judge me for eating breakfast for dinner
