Jan 2021
the dirt stained my palms
my heels dug into the mud
a rose stem pricked my finger
my eyes are bloodshot and puffy
i carry grief around in my head
my body is cold from the rain
the priest's words stung my soul
you would've hated this,
but mom insisted
