She whispered in the Delphinium
A prayer she wished would come
A cure to save the masses
From what life had now become
She took refuge in the garden
She prayed on hands and knees
She engaged with all the flowers
She had raised up from a seed
She wallowed in the pasture
Among the fallen leaves
And listened for the echoes
Of soft spoken trees
The chaos that protruded
That made it hard to breathe
Was lost now in the slumber
Of cautionary dreams
