Overcoming disappointment
And some self inflicted pain
We rise to meet it at the source
As though we stand something to gain
Leaping over obstacles
While fearing subtle change
If only to face ourselves in life
In some fundamental way
It’s there we find our courage
To crumble our disdain
And lift our heads up to the sky
To catch the falling rain
