For Summer
For Summer
If only for Summer I write this
the warm winds and happy smiles
the perfume of flowers
days of dancing in the warm sun
I wish I was not a winter baby
one that was brought up in the snow
for all we know is no parties in the garden
because of ice and snow
I wish I was a Summer baby
full of happiness and good cheer
but not in my life
it's a pity I fear
Blue eyes and blue skies
goodness I wish I had both
even a party by the coast
as for me a happy host
Yet I love to see
if in summer I was born to be
and in-kind warm winds
I myself could have a party again
