I felt solace with you
Not some happiness lie
It’s when old friends return
I’m reminded of why
I am smart,
A good person
You seemed to agree
Hold my own in contempt
But still think we were free
To be anything
More than just
Pre-destiny
Or enamored with ego
Attachment compels
Us to think ourselves more
Than a pile of cells
