i am a rotten corpse, sunbaked and dried
blood, copper-scented sweetness under the
heated sun. covered in unseen scars and
littered in bruises, unable to be distinguished
from rot.
eyes milky white, flecks of golden light still
gleaming underneath, the gold of the sun's
light. maybe. maybe once before my body lay
in green grass, far too green to be real. maybe.
i am a corpse covered in life, i am a giver. i give,
give, give, give, give, and never stop. and in my
body i planted seeds of a better life, growing
fauna too resilient to die. and may one day will
they grow stronger than i.
