He might or might not be able to control that situation.

This means dictating they get a legit job to contribute to the home.
What time they MUST be home?

If not eighteen and at home?
They not legally grown simply playing the part.

Can't keep complaining about the criminal court system?
If committing crimes?
Is a personal decision of theirs?
