The artist aspires to be fluent in divine fire
Harnessing heaven-sent power of the mind
To render images of Beauty refined
Which to the splendour of Heaven aspire

Their fierce visions of immortal forms
Yielded by labour to the canvas and the page
The most supreme visions remembered for an age
Their nascent art of devil's illusions shorn

Their bodies of work are cast in charming light
By the rays of Heaven's sun illuminated
Divine fire sets the human mind alight

What fine art could frame God's face
Divine creator, spirit true
And capture his immortal grace
