This could have been you and I
You and I nursing our wounds of love
Thence a great wreck awaits ashore
If we had started a journey with nothing assured
This could have been our great little ship
Blown away by just a mighty gentle breeze
Like thus which gladens the trees
This could have been us living in mistrust
Of what is wrong and who is first
I stayed aloof of thoughts which haunts
My emotional being it could likely distort
Thoughts of a great wreck at the big open sea
