gonna take a greyhound back to teneesee
place where i was born i hear it calling me
back home to my roots is where i long to be
to my home sweet home in memphis tennesee

see againΒ Β once more my kin and family
remember all the times and how it used to be
when i was just a kid and my life was free
that i hold so close in my memory

feeling once again mammas loving touch
home again once more to the place i miss so much
settle down for good to the place i know the best
stop my roaming ways put my mind at rest

gonna take a greyhound back to teneesee
place where i was born i hear it calling me
back home to my roots is where i long to be
to my home sweet home in memphis tennesee
