Been really off
Deep-ending
Out late pretending
Offending my closest friends
Seldom expending
More energy
Even less money
Although
I can’t stop buying into
The drunk undertow
And don’t care about much
That I used to think so
And with nowhere to go
Or to do
I am mute
In the presence of others
I want to rebuke
But the truth is
The working class man
Knows his place
And then there’s me
Floating
In thought’s
Outer space
