As I walked on a beach
Among the ferns
The sea sand was out of reach

In odd shapes the water moved
As my heart ached
I knew there was more to do

Ashen sand castles lay strewn
On a place which was far from us
Or a figment of our imagination

Now, I look back and the whirlpool
Is all that I remember from our trips
On the sea, where the **** lay at the bottom of the blue
