Waking in the morning
Can't recall my dream

When I was 17
Oh! My basketball team

She was a cheerleader
President of my class

I sit in the silent chapel
Rarely go to Mass

Her father was a priest
Episcopalian church

And also a painter
Like me, he must have searched

Her hair was long and brown
Way down to her waist

Still I must be patient
Now no time for haste

Not really sure
If I remember clearly sweet 16

Now I'm 51
But you shoulda heard what I seen
