are you looking for stitches
down in the Congo the bamboos grow huge
please don't come looking to take one for your garden
you are too small to carry the one bamboo
you will fall and injure yourself if it falls on you
I can't make you cry, don't want to see your eyes water
please stick to pansies and daisies and clovers for your garden
leave the big bamboo to the Plantation owners
they have the land, the money and the right people
who know what to do with big bamboos
you are just too small
to grow a big bamboo
it will end in tears

big bamboos are not common in the west, but in the tropics they grow everywhere and are used in different ways, sometimes a small size lady will try to buy and the sellers usually have to send them away cause no way can small ladies carry a big bamboo, the sellers always say to the small buyers, go get three men to help you, then that would be ok,. I wrote this poem in 1988.
