You told me that we could never be,
that the moments we had created together
needed to stay buried below the bottomless depths.
I tried to honor your request,
but every word I spoke,
every breath I took,
I was still sinking
in your dark and strong
handsomeness.
And as I laid stretched
out on my cozy sofa,
my head resting on the pillow,
I was reminiscing about you,
your deep-set dreamy eyes,
your elegantly arched nose,
your curved and delicate lips.
I would’ve given anything
to feel your large, flawless hands upon me,
comforting my lean, gorgeous body,
assuring me that you
would never leave me.
You would always give your all
and make sure to call
and check up on your baby,
that the love we had built together
would never fall apart
because we would always
be in each other’s heart.
