They thought it was easy meat
succulent and juicy
delicious and so digestible
they ate ravenously
only to find it stuck in their thieving throats
angular and jaggeder
hot and piercing and peppered
gritty
it became a fish-bone
stuck painfully making them wince
now they croak all over the place
its become a great discomfort
choking yet unseen
now they screech and croak day and night
honking like pigs
squeaking like human mice
red in the face and red in the throats
croak croak croak
now lodged in thieving throats
the fish-bone stuck
and they all thought it was easy-meat
