Some wait for twilight
some wait for the sun
some wait for Christmas,
and won't that be fun,

we wait in the trenches
we wait on park benches
we wait like cattle
for the end to come.

It's all about the waiting
that small hesitation
before stating the obvious,

the obvious being
that
which we are seeing,

the breakdown of society
the rise in poverty
the stock market fall
the firing squad wall
and at one time
we had it all,

Eliot.

the card turns,
the hanged man
