rotten
I was once a delicate
rose
until your thorn
the ravaging of my body
you left me bruised and torn
The scorn of night
and endless dark
void of light
Blood trickled
down my legs like dripping
juice from a rotten peach
The omens of
the distraught midnight beach
& the only witness
of that night
is the void within
and the stars in the sky
they glitter and gleam
in hopes I carry on
even when
it all went wrong
