Lightning strokes the greenery,
flashbulbs
and the scenery shifts
the curtain lifts
and brings on the rain.

All this from a bedroom window

it's like a book once read,
but
the character assassination
is only you killing you and
you're still in bed,

'the show must go on'
'yeah,
on trial',
the audience screams,

and it's often like that
in dreams of greatness.
