i still think about that night
we were next to each other
on your bed, bodies close,
fitting beautifully into one another.
every atom of mine
screamed out for you;
i wanted to kiss you
and make you mine forever,
make you see that i’m the one
you’ve been searching for.
everything was perfect,
but then you said her name,
and i knew you would never
say mine how you did hers.
