It’s safe to say
We wouldn’t know
If not for the video
That documented
The ebb and flow
Of the ******
But even so
We have quite a way to gp

The perpetrators
Might  have escaped
If the incident
Wasn’t taped
And now it’s
Not a mystery
It’s crystal clear
For all to see

And what cannot
Be debated
Is this tragedy
Gets replicated
All across this
Troubled land
When white folks
Have the upper hand

And black lives
Are expendable
When they’re not
Defendable
Which happens
All too frequently
Although it doesn’t
Have to be
