May 2020
terror is the beginning of beauty
which we are just barely able to endure

so said Mr. Rilke
I think he might know for sure

every angel is terrifying
emerging from unknown skies

they always say Fear Not
terror does so often surprise

I saw an angel once
Naked in my bedroom

I saw an angel twice
Va va va va voom

L.A. is the City of Angels
I once went there one spring break

when the terror returns
it will both give and take

even though you'll be terrified
my friends: Stay awake!
