Under the shell
It's dark and hard to see
Our secrets are safe from the world
Unless it got cracked

Under the shell
Everything moves slowly
Our eyes take ages to blink
It's hard to define speed

Under the shell
We are protected from the outside
We never see what it's like
We only tell it's hot while stuck in sand
And cold when waves push us to the waters

Under the shell
Is beautiful like the galaxies in the sky
An Explorer fell in love with me
Overwhelmed with my beauty
Took the pearl and told me my name
I'm an oyster shell

Under the shell
Is where my heart was before you found me
Wild and not easy to tame
No one to call a friend.
My life was empty and almost ending
You couldn't watch me fall
Held my hand and supported my gait
You were proud of me when others weren't
That's the best someone has loved me
Best feeling ever now that I came out of my shell
