Apr 2020
April will be remembered
as truly the cruellest month.
Deep in careless slumber,
we woke up in dismay.
Centre Parcs no longer magical
Paris no longer romantic.
The Big Apple confounded
Chinaโ€™s Great Wall breached,
Meccaโ€™s Kaballah pilgrims bereft.
We dig deep into politicianโ€™s lies
in hope of finding the truth.
Overnight the vulnerable elderly
are locked-in social-distance lepers
all acts of affection to them denied.
Winnowed they will be
our mature corn as chaff
while good and bad
find no partition.
