May 2013
Soon the desolate sun peeked above table mesa road
mourning dove awoke the nomadic dawn
cloudless day,  blue in all directions
lizards, little flashes emerged from earth in green iridescence
horned beetles crawled in blue shimmering suns
orange petals, monarch wings warmed
with tiny birds, did flit before
the red desert dawn.
