Black outside
With a heart that's caged
Faint talking swirling around the light fixture
I sip my tea and itch my neck
Pockets full of lint and lungs of ash
A swollen mind with too many thoughts
Pull the covers
And sleep for good. No more
surprises.    No more
pretending like the sun ever shone in.
