Mother used to say to me
When I had gotten out of line
Son, you have a destiny
You’re going to lead a life of crime
You’ve got nothing left to give
You only take away
This is a curse and not a gift
I’m not going to waste my time and pray
You are my greatest failure
Your father told you lies
That you could rule the world someday
But then he went and died
So my gift to you is this
You’re everything that I despise
You’ll never be the man he was
Handsome, strong, and wise
Listen up and stand up straight
I’ll give you some advice
You can’t succeed if you don’t try
Don’t make me have to tell you twice
There’s 1000 ways to die
Lift up your head as you walk away
Don’t ever let them see you cry
Someday you’ll settle down
And get yourself a wife
Son don’t make me have to tell you twice
There’s 1000 ways to die
