The photograph stares back at me
With gleaming animal eyes
I wonder what thoughts
Dare to survive in his mind
Thoughts about me
That should be quickly shunned away
But linger just long enough for pain
As tears bite at my eyes
I wonder where you went
The man in this photo
Is no longer the person that you are
And everything is worthless
A useless map
Guiding me to places unknown
Places with a lack of hope
And overflowing with wishes
To bring back the dead
But that would be to easy
Waving your hand to bring back the person that you were
Nothing could bring back the man in this photograph
Not a single word could change your mind
And anything could be done to change mine
