poppy

Sweet nectar

from a forbidden

flower.

I must remember

that life is simple.

Enchanting meadows.

whispering

in my ears

forgotten dreams

and

promises.

You would make a lovely bouquet.

A vase of lies

sit on the kitchen table,

addressing me

with meaningless

memories.

Each spring

you grow back.

robing me of

my piece of

mind.

And each blossom

reminds me

that it will soon

be

over.
