I rode along the countryside‬
‪Traveling with a friend ‬
‪Biking on an old dirt road‬
‪Slowing down as we ascend ‬

‪The mist is heavy in the air‬
‪There seems to be a trend ‬
‪As the morning dew surrounds us‬
‪So do the clouds above our head‬

‪Without a destination ‬
‪And a small amount of bread‬
‪We look forward to see the next town‬
‪If nothing else than to be fed‬

‪The beauty of the lush tall grass‬
‪I’d surely recommend ‬
‪The trees scattered everywhere about‬
‪Never touched by human hand‬

It gave us a sense of freedom
That many fought hard to defend
So we shared a moment of silence
For the protectors of the land
