sacred the twilight falling
special the horror filling
the land
with a sense  of morbid
fascination

lovely the child-
like quality
the beauty expressed by
every free moment
of spontaneous joy

stolen from within the corporate
prison
below the all-seeing policeman's Eye

(AND YOU, TOO
SURE
I KNOW YOU, TOO
UNDERSTAND
AND UNDERSTAND WHY
WE MUST LEARN TO TRY TO SPEAK AGAIN)

softly the sacred sound that
seeps
the child-like footsteps
thru the town
the blood besplattered city streets
the death bespattered human mind
the horror so fascinating
the morbid twilight of this our "time"
