From a germinated seed,
to an acorn that escaped a
Winter Squirrel, this plant
became a shrub, then grew
onwards to become a tree.

The problem with it was,
that unlike the conifers in
the forest (all supporting
each other), the Oak was
arrogantly independent.

Every leaf was a dollar bill,
rich canopies under which
prosperity and security was
protected from extremes of
heat or excessive downpours.

Oh, how blessed I am it said:
to have so much wealth at my
twig tips, whenever I want it
is only a matter of shaking my
branches and money descends

Autumn came, dyes changed
those denominated notes
began to loose their hue, then a
hurricane blew them all away
to the floor of the pine forest.

The money tree stood bare, no
protection from the icy winds
or the Siberian snow, it was
desolate but found some solace
being lower than the pine wood.
