Why Carry
a torch? Are you going to
burn this city down? A candle
reflects the glint in your eye
through its very soft light.
Why carry
a rope? Are you planning on
hanging yourself? A string can
pluck a pretty song.
Why carry
a saw? Do you want to cut
down the trees? A pocket knife
would be just right to carve
our initials for lasting memories.
Why carry
a grudge? Do you want to
further the pain? Forgive and forget.
And Iβll do the same.
