Every tree here
grows buds that bloom into poison memories
at least during spring time
and i'd rather pick twigs
to replace my eyes
than see your new flowers

come December
i'll plant what i have removed
and spring may bring
buds that make you remember
why the blackbird can write
no poem
to describe how much this place
no longer feels like home
