i went to see my mamma in the county of kildare
the home i was born brought and raised up there
we talked about the times that we used to share
when ever i was down. she gave me love and care.

if i began to cry she would love and comfort me
wipe away the tears so my eyes could see
days we went out walking all along the shore
we would watch the tide coming home once more

looking at the fields with there shades of green
we would count them all.   how many we had seen
all these different things are the things we did
that i did with mamma when i was just a kid.

a mamma in a million is what she is to me
always by my side mamma she would be
all the special times that we used to share
in the place i was raised in the county of kildare
