Once again
Is near at hand
A time when time
Ceases to span
The provenance’s
Future tenses
As the here and now
Pretenses
Best of what
Presents the self
Can boast
And its hubris
Claim the most
Enlightened in humility
Empowered in virility
Of pedigree and legacy
Indelible to memory
For all to see
In perfect form
Of imperfection’s
Former norm
No mourn the standard-bearer
Of the pall-bearer’s despair
Or the narrator,
In staring blankly
At these pages bare
Hyper-aware
Of the eternities
And eons
Could be better serving
Justice to in-flux
Of armed-disharmonies
Converging to
This Pax Romana rust
Brand new
