I believe in the spirit
I have more faith than reason
I question my own country
Heaven and hell in all seasons

I can't conceive that
God's mystery
Can be pinned down by one book
But every now and then
When I lose another friend
I decide to take a look

And the ants crawl to the amphitheater
There's crumbs and love for everyone
Like smoke through a spider's web
There's nothing to be done
We just spin on and on
