Tree
Arms stretched..to the sky
woodpeckers nibbling at my thigh
My hair of green
to shroud you from heat
The powers that be
make sure i've water to drink
Storms will rip me from the ground
wind through my hair...makes a beautiful sound
I will color my hair..in a new season
you will come to stare...for this reason
I stand with many
for hundreds of years
you chop me down..and nobody cares
Lightning has killed me...many times
when you were a child...you would often climb
Now i must go...you killed me so
i can not continue...unable to grow
You cut me up and built a place to live
together forever...i gave all i can give......
