Another Kiss

It was a warm early spring day,
the sun and clouds exchanging places

I was working in my yard,
      sometimes acknowledging smiling faces

that past by my white picket fence,
                 in this cozy little town

people in all kinds of garb,
one wearing a bright white gown

I was down on my padded knees,
I was digging in the dirt

then I saw you saunter up,
      wearing this flowered, flippy skirt

I banged my head on the fence post,
      as I lost my concentration
            stumbling awkwardly to my feet,
                   there was no hesitation

no,we had not married yet,
but our love was no illusion,
           everyone who knew us both,
                 came to the same conclusion

we smiled at each other,
in our own very special way

our eyes were speaking volumes,
      although no sound was made

she finally said, I must leave,
I'm on my way to school

I tried to speak, intelligent words,
but all I did was drool

because I was anticipating,
the feeling of her lips on mine,
I could feel the tingling in my toes,
               up and down my spine

her kisses were always special,
      filled with special bliss

I just could not wait anymore,
      I'm needing Another kiss
